BACKGROUND This annual report will provide an overview of Code Enforcement’s mission and core values, operations and service delivery, fiscal year 2022-2023 activity and highlights, current initiatives, challenges and next steps. Mission and Core Values Code Enforcement’s mission is to “work in partnership with the people of San José to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment”. Focusing on the division’s three core values in its operations and service delivery to the community: safety, quality of life, and working together, Code Enforcement works to achieve its mission (see Table 1- Code Enforcement Division Values).
